Lincoln University presents musical soap opera

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts of Lincoln University is presenting “Cosi fan tutte: Don A’s School for Lovers,” a comical musical soap opera written by Mozart.

It will be performed in Pawley Theatre in Martin Luther King Hall on the Lincoln University campus at 7 p.m. April 17. Admission is free.

The piece is sung mostly in English translation with some selections in the original Italian. It is set on Mackinac Island during the Vietnam War.

The musical is directed by Ruth Robertson and features Marie Morris as Fiiordiligi, Cassandra Gal as Dorabella, Ann Riggs as Despina, Bill Lehman as Ferrando, Ian Linenfelser as Guglielmo and Bill Stine as Don Alfonso.

The narrator is Eugene Harper and accompanying on piano is Bill Lehman. On flute is Gretta Lieser, and Katja Otto-Gentry plays cello. Brass section includes: Keith Clair, Arthur Gil, Quaylan Jackson, Brandon Orr and Robert Sneed. Percussion is provided by Jimmy Underwood.
