As I read the article about Michael Fox in Sunday's Parade Magazine, I thought what an inspiration to all of us as he battles his Parkinson's disease.
I couldn't help but remember with disdain that Rush Limbaugh laughed and made fun of Fox on his radio show. He even had the nerve to question whether or not he was faking those jerky movements.
I have to ask, is this the type of person we want to honor by putting a statue of him in our Capitol? By doing so, we diminish the accomplishments of those who are in the Hall of Fame.
Everyone with a disability or those who have compassion for them should show outrage at such a notion as the Speaker of the House continues to push this idea forward.
