The Jays had hoped to use the Capital City Invitational to get out of its recent funk that has caused them to drop five straight games.

Instead, the tournament was a repeat of the recent skid and left Jefferson City with more answers than questions.

The Jays - now 1-7 - are left to play for seventh after a 7-3 loss to Rockwood Summit followed by a 10-1 loss to Hickman.
