Larry D. Henry Jr. has won the 5th Ward council seat with just under 41 percent of the vote.

The 5th Ward was the only contested race with four candidates running for the seat vacated by Dave Griffith in January.

Henry said each candidate ran a good race and deserved to be commended. He said he was elated with the results and wanted to thank all of his supporters.
