Firefighters practice with nighttime blazes

Three Firefighters cautiously approach a burning car Monday during Cole County Fire Protection District’s annual training exercise at the Cole County Maintenance Facility on Montecello Road. Approxamietly 30 firefighers practiced putting out different fuel fire scenarios during the training.

Firefighters with the Cole County Fire Protection District spent Monday night training to attack fires involving flammable liquids.

At their fire station No. 4, across from the county public works department on Monticello Road, fire fighters practiced how to fight a car fire, propane tank fire and a fire involving a gasoline spill.
