WARDSVILLE, Mo. — With Blair Oaks’ Brian Patten and Hallsville’s Brendan Beatty delivering exceptional performances on the mound Monday, fans at the Falcon Athletic Complex were treated to a rarity in high school baseball — a pitchers’ duel.
Patten’s brilliant outing bested Beatty’s effort and the Falcons came away with a 1-0 victory.
“I thought both guys threw very well tonight,” Blair Oaks coach Harv Antle said. “You don’t see too many 1-0 games in high school baseball.”
