PITTSBURG, Kan. - Four area athletes recorded top-eight finishes in the Pittsburg State Wendy's Open Invitational held Saturday.
On the women's side, Central Missouri's Lori Mortenson (Tipton High School) was fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.65) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (26.57), while teammate Jessica Fennewald (Blair Oaks High School) was seventh in the 100-meter dash (12.81) and eighth in the long jump (16-3).
Mortenson and Fennewald were also part of the Jennies' 4x100-meter relay team that finished second (48.93).
Competing unattached, Stephany Johnson (Jefferson City High School) was eighth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.53).
On the men's side, Central Missouri's Jacob White (Southern Boone High School) was eighth in the 400-meter dash (50.50) and part of the Mules' 4x400-meter relay team that finished fourth (3:20.66).
