Ray Bixler may not have gotten the highest bid, but his reasons for attending ProStar Auctions condominium auctions to kick off its season Saturday should appeal to viewers who could see him in the pilot episode of HGTV’s new series “Auction House.”

Bixler said he wanted to check out Lake of the Ozarks area homes and see how they related to his budget as he approaches retirement.

HGTV fans had a chance to see and participate in the production of the new show being filmed at the Lake.
