KINGSBARNS, Scotland (AP) - Louis Oosthuizen put himself in contention for another memorable victory at St. Andrews, taking a share of the first-round lead Thursday in the Dunhill Links Championship.

The South African, the British Open winner last year at St. Andrews, shot a 6-under 66 at Kingsbarns to top the leaderboard along with Rafael Cabrera-Bello, Markus Brier and Michael Hoey. Cabrera-Bello also played Kingsbarns, while Hoey and Brier opened at St. Andrews - the site of the final round.

Graeme McDowell, the 2010 U.S. Open champion, was one of six players a stroke behind after a 67 at Kingsbarns. Top-ranked Luke Donald had a 69, fifth-ranked Dustin Johnson - the top American in the field - shot a 71, and U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy had a 72 - all at Kingsbarns.

Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jhonattan Vegas and William McGirt shot 8-under 63s to share the first-round lead in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Vegas, the Venezuelan rookie who won the Bob Hope Classic in January for his first PGA Tour title, had 10 birdies and two bogeys at TPC Summerlin in the first of four Fall Series events.

McGirt, also a PGA Tour rookie, had eight birdies in a bogey-free round.

Nathan Green and Charlie Wi were a stroke back.

Jonathan Byrd, the winner last year when he made a hole-in-one on the fourth hole of a playoff with Martin Laird and Cameron Percy, opened with a 71.
