Police probe Break Time armed robbery
Shown is footage from a security camera during an armed robbery early Wednesday morning at the Break Time Convenience Store on Ellis Boulevard.
Thursday, September 29, 2011
Jefferson City police were searching Wednesday for two men who robbed the Break Time Convenience Store, 326 Ellis Blvd., about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Capt. Doug Shoemaker said in a news release the both suspects were black men, “thin to medium build, and approximately 6 feet tall.”
Both men were wearing black clothes, with some covering over their faces.
Shoemaker said only a clerk was in the store when the robbery occurred.
“One of the suspects displayed a black handgun,” Shoemaker said, “and both suspects went behind the cash register and had the clerk open the cash drawer.”

Are we ever going to get control of all these violent robberies committed by black males?

More bigoted trolling by JCLifer. You should be banned from these forums.

JCLifer it should be gaining control of all these crimes committed by anyone, not just black males.

I didn't know only black people committed crimes. New one to me too!

I have to wonder about that - it's the oldest trick in the book. A little shoe polish on your hands, and you leave everyone looking for a black man - between five feet one and five feet eleven inches tall, medium build, between one hundred fifty and two hundred seventy-five pounds.

Don't forget, with a gun for God's sake!

You're right, he's got a gun. Where are all the wannabe cowboy fantasy vigilantes with their CCW permits?

Tonto you make some very good points...Jeff City could use the services of "The Caped Crusader". Perhaps someone will step up and answer the call...but I think your point about the "shoe polish" is even more intriguing. Especially when you look at this from another angle other than "there are just to black people robbing Break Time Stores in Jefferson City".
The person in the photo's have all black clothing AND a black Ski mask. So why no black gloves to cover his/her hands? The theory about the shoe polish/Cammo Paint makes more and more sense when you consider this. The store clerk see's two menacing figures dressed in all black approach demanding money. Both figures are aggressive and at least one of those figures is pointing an all black pistol in the clerks face. What is the clerk gonna be concentrating on other than staying alive and these black figures robbing the store? Those black figures are etched in the store clerks mind and that's the description he/she have given to the cops. After reading your comment...I viewed the photo again....and to be honest, I can't say for certain the gun waiving robber is actually black. Look at the hands...they are not the same shade (Ala the polish/paint is thicker on one hand than the other) and I can't imagine that a people who went through all this trouble to dress in black from head to toe, would forget to wear black gloves...unless they wanted that to help distract/confuse the clerk who was meant to provide a misleading description of the robbers. I hope they catch whoever did this and I can't wait to learn their true identity. Stay safe and have fun out there.

Wow,,are you high? The person that was there gave a generic description as usually in these robberies. But the surveilance videos are a bit more clear before printed in the paper. After studying the still photo, and careful research I can tell it is a "person of color" by the way the gun is being held! CCW people aim a weapon straight up and down,, Gangstas hold the pistolas at a 90 degree angle for a scarier affect!

Hey, Rickster, If you squint just right at the picture you might notice that the perpetrator has saggy pants! So, with those things - the gun held sideways for extra scariness and the saggy pants - are you convinced that it's a person of color?

Or perhaps someone who's played a bit too much Grand Theft Auto?

He looks like he's ready to break-dance, too. Doesn't a person have to be "of color" to do that? A person "without color" would look kind of silly break-dancing, wouldn't they?

This may have evolved into one of othe oddest threads I've seen...but you've given me great ideas if I ever want to take up a life of crime.

Thanks! I try to help out when I can. Too many people around here are too impressed with the value of their own opinions.

Be sure and tell him that next time you see him. Anyway, that's what the ski mask is really for, armor.
