For Central Dairy, milk delivery is far from a practice of the past.
Instead, it’s considered a “long-standing tradition in Jefferson City,” according to Shannon Mahoney, the company’s operation and sales manager.
The service, which covers about 600 houses in the immediate area over two routes, is not a substantial portion of the company’s profits, Mahoney said.

I love not having to carry those heavy milk jugs home on the bus, leaves room and energy for beer . . .

My family and I had Central Dairy home delivery for well over 30 years, before we moved away. The service was excellent. In all those years, I only remember one time that the milkman failed to deliver and that was due to the weather. I miss that service.

Wish we had cold beer delivery. They call it light beer but it isn't if you have to carry it very far.

There's a serious drawback to beer delivery, the sound of the approaching truck would cause many drool drownings due to Pavlovian reflexes . . .
