And when the final whistle blew, after a lot of beating and banging, the Helias Crusaders and Fatima Comets both got something out of a game that had all the earmarks of a postseason contest.

“It was a rough game,” Helias coach Chuck Register said after the Crusaders edged the Comets 1-0 at Knights of Columbus Field. “There was a lot going on out there. But it was a good experience, we know we’re going have games like this down the road.”
