Downtown parking program moves to council
Friday, September 23, 2011
The City Council will review a downtown resident parking program proposal after two committees have gone through a draft ordinance and addressed several concerns.
At the Public Works and Planning Committee meeting Thursday, committee members were presented a revised draft ordinance for the proposed program that would allow residents of downtown apartments to park in any metered spot without payment, but according to the original ordinance they would be charged a monthly fee.
The committee opted to delete the fee from the ordinance, at least for the next five years.
