Silver Haired Legislature sets priorities

After their annual three-day mock legislative session at the Capitol, the Silver Haired Legislature knows what it wants Missouri’s “official” lawmakers to do next year.

Every year, the SHL mock legislature’s meeting ends with the selection of a “Top 5” list of issues they want to see become state laws.

This year’s list, adopted Wednesday, includes:

• Restore, then increase, funding for the AAA meals program, including meals served at senior centers and the “Meals On Wheels” efforts that deliver lunch to seniors who are homebound.
