Bikers for Babies event is Saturday

More than 1,000 motorcyclists are expected to participate this Saturday in the ninth annual Central Missouri March of Dimes Bikers for Babies fund-raiser to help fight premature birth.

This year, the ride will have three starting options: participants can begin in Jefferson City at the Bee Line in Apache Flats; in Sedalia at the Swine Pavilion at the State Fair; or in Columbia at Mid America Harley-Davidson.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at all three locations. At 11 a.m., the bikers begin their ride to the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville.

A minimum donation of $25 per rider and $25 per passenger includes a Bikers for Babies Ride pin, lunch and live entertainment.

Riders are encouraged to raise additional donations for additional prizes.

The event is open to individual riders, club riders and anyone who would like to support the March of Dimes mission. All March of Dimes ride events are certified by the American Motorcycle Association.

Interested riders can register online at or by contacting the March of Dimes office at (573) 635-5350.
