St. Mary's named top performer

Accrediting organization cites four clinical quality areas

St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City has been named a top performer in clinical quality measures by an independent, national accrediting organization.

The Joint Commission, which is a not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the nation, measures five key qualities in its accreditations. This is the first time the Joint Commission has ever named top performers in these categories.

St. Mary's was named a top performer in four of them. It received recognition for quality care in heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
