Missouri American Water will be the presenting sponsor of the second Race to the Dome on Oct. 2.
The race is a canoe/kayak event beginning at 8 a.m. at Perche Creek Access in Providence and the Hartsburg Access. The races will end at Noren Access in Jefferson City.
The race has expanded to include the original 15.8-mile course from Hartsburg and a 26.6-mile course from Providence.
Race to the Dome is a charity race benefiting Missouri River Relief and its efforts to reconnect people to the Missouri River through hands-on river cleanups and education.
The first race in 2010 featured 99 paddlers in 66 boats and raised $2,500 for River Relief.
