Man injured in motorcycle crash

A Holts Summit man was listed in good condition Friday at University Hospital in Columbia after being involved in a one-vehicle crash Thursday in Callaway County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, David Gilmore, 52, was driving a homemade motorcycle on old U.S. 54 South, a half-mile south of County Road 174, around 2 p.m.

A deer entered the roadway, and Gilmore steered to avoid the deer.

He then ran off the road and struck a tree.

Gilmore was wearing a safety device when the crash occurred.
