UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Lindsey Harding scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter and the Atlanta Dream rallied to beat the Connecticut Sun 89-84 in Game 1 of their playoff series on Friday night.

Angel McCoughtry added 16 points for the Dream, despite missing most of the final period with foul trouble. Erika DeSouza and Armintie Price had 14 points apiece, and Sancho Lyttle finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Renee Montgomery and Asjha Jones had 16 points apiece for Connecticut.

Game 2 of the best-of-three Eastern Conference semifinals is Sunday in Atlanta.

Connecticut led 68-63 with 9:10 remaining when McCoughtry was whistled for her fifth foul. But Iziane Castro Marques made a pair of 3-pointers to help fuel an 11-4 run.

Atlanta held Connecticut leading scorer Tina Charles to 12 points and outrebounded the Sun 46-29.

Lynx 66, Silver Stars 65

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Lindsay Whalen scored 20 points to lead the Lynx to the victory in Game 1 of their WNBA Western Conference semifinal.

Whalen also had five assists and made the game's biggest defensive play, tipping a Silver Stars inbounds pass to Maya Moore with 4 seconds left to seal the victory.

Seimone Augustus added 19 points and Rebekkah Brunson grabbed 14 rebounds for Minnesota.

Danielle Adams and Becky Hammon each scored 16 points for San Antonio, which lost all four regular-season games against the Lynx as well.

Game 2 will be Sunday afternoon in San Antonio, where the Lynx can close out the first playoff series victory in franchise history.
