Downtown parking program advances

The proposal for a downtown resident parking program has been recommended by the Jefferson City Transportation and Traffic Commission and will now move to another commission for further discussion.
At the Transportation and Traffic Commission meeting Wednesday, staff presented a draft ordinance for the proposed program that would allow residents of downtown apartments to park in any metered spot without payment, but they would be charged a monthly fee.
