Dear Editor:
Susan Stark (Sept. 3) says "no one receives a paycheck from a poor man." However, that is exactly where corporate shareholders and highly-paid executives do get their wealth: from the labor of employees who are part-time, paid minimum-wage jobs and denied benefits.
They wouldn't be so wealthy if their jobs really provided a decent standard of living for their employees. The wealth of this country has always been a consequence of those who really create it through their labor.
So, Ms. Stark, please recognize the reality of our economic system.
Some people have much; others have little. There is a connection.
