Your Opinion: Trinity Lutheran's meal program lauded

Dear Editor:

I heard through the grapevine that Trinity Lutheran school is providing home cooked meals to the children and staff. They have opted to use frozen not canned food, as well as from scratch breads, muffins and other meals - not pre-packaged or box meals.

I think this is tremendous, a true commitment to the quality that children deserve, and frequently do not get enough of. I think this should be commended, reported on and perhaps there will be a shift from other private and public schools in the area as the parents decide they too want this level of quality in the lives of their children.

School lunches need to be critically evaluated and our children should not be fed substandard ingredients in their meals. Bravo!
