Lincoln and Avila combined for a paltry 85 yards of offense in the opening period and no scores, but the Blue Tigers exploded for 21 second-quarter points in Lincoln’s 35-3 win at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
After a first quarter in which the Eagles outgained the Blue Tigers just 45-40 and Avila had four fruitless possessions and Lincoln three, the Blue Tigers finally started moving the ball toward the end of the stanza.

First win for Lincoln in over a decade?

Messy game....but it's a win and "Congrats"!. Stay out of legal trouble, stay in the classroom so you can get on the ball field where you'll have to practice hard so that when you do get on the filed you can compete within the rules and hopefully win a few more. take it one step at a time....and remember this...your only as good as your last game. Next time ya gotta step it up[. One step at a time.....

Why so many haters in this area. They went out there an won the game, that's a plus from last year. I see why this school never prospered. The community and the school's athletic director's office is so negative. Some of them should be fired at this point. These are kids trying to do something positive and the coaches are there to help them, which is what they are doing. Be proud of the university and show some support.

It's a mystery to me; and it's more complicated than just hate. It probably has more to do with the differences between Columbia and Jeferson City than anything else. LU could be one of the biggest assets in this town if people would just let it happen.

Who are you calling haters? JCLifer asked a simple question: 'First win for Lincoln in over a decade?' How does that translate into 'dislike' as hkchs calls it and you, isitjust me, calling him and wow haters? hkshs answered the question. Same thing with the next post by wow who offers 'Congrats'! and some advice - good and fitting advice in my opinion. So where is the hate? Is 'Congrats' support in your book, isitjustme?

Sounds like you made an assumption about JCLifer's statement. In other words you don't know what was going through his mind as he posted. It may be what you say and it may be something else. Youre thinking for him when you make assxumptions as you did. its a good way to create problems or its a good way enhance already difficult things....assume someone said something and intended it as a cheap shot. I've heard alot about the LU Tigers lately in the context of the new coach. this may well be part of it.
Now, hkccchs, you want to blame Lincoln for its traditionally black enrollment. Odd. Last stats I saw said Lincoln was about 80% white...So, what is the deal here?
ARe you looking for a fight, hkcccccccchs? Kinda like yo do in other posts?

Interestinmg that most of the posts here are not about the topic, but rather the posters. I had no idea Lincoln won a game last year. Over the years lincoln's football program has not earned a good reputation for winning. Haven't they frequently lost their homevoming games? Reading this article, I wasd suprised that they won their first game. I have taken several classes at Lincoln. Somer of the teachers their are great, despite the horrible administration. I wish the football program well. Rtegarding non-support by the community, last year I attended two home games of Lincoln basdketball. Interesting that Lee's Fried Chicken was the ONLY local business with a sign of support in the gym. Also, my family was the ONLY white people in attendance. They lost both games even tjough they played well the first half. It was like the Lincoln team just gave up for the secvond half.

Petunia, many folks arouind here do not like people who have alternative views to the status quo, or who ask too many questions. it probably all goes back to the german Catholic tradition of people having to have the same thoughts as their leaders (priest/pope) and the ruling elite clasd and they don't have the self-confidence to think for themselves.
