Your Opinion: Boy Scouts' hard work gets noticed
Friday, September 2, 2011
While reading the Sunday paper, I noticed that someone wrote a letter to the editor thanking the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department for repainting the quarter-mile markers along the Jefferson City Greenway.
I would like to clarify that this project was completed as a Troop 2 Boy Scout Eagle project. The boy that is working on completing his Eagle rank, received direction and supplies from the Parks and Recreation Department. However, he worked with many of the scouts from his troop to complete this project for the Parks Department.
This was a very rewarding job, and while painting the quarter-mile markers many people stopped and thanked the boys.
Thank you for noticing the hard work, and making a future Eagle Scout realize that hard work does get noticed.
