Lady Jays softball rallies for 7-6 win against Rock Bridge

Coming together at the end

After shortstop Shelbie Atwell gave Rock Bridge a 6-4 lead over Jefferson City with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday, the Lady Bruins looked poised for a big inning.

But Lady Jays’ pitcher Brailee Schulte had other ideas. She bore down and got out of the remainder of the inning unscathed.

The offense took care of the rest as Haley Gerber lined a hit to left that plated the winning run as Jefferson City rallied in the bottom of the seventh to beat Rock Bridge 7-6 at Lincoln Field.
