House fire kills Poplar Bluff man

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) — A house fire in southeastern Missouri has killed a 53-year-old man.

KFVS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/sVPtIV) reports the victim has been identified as David Buchanan. The Butler County coroner says it appears Buchanan died of smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were called around 3:30 a.m. Friday and found Buchanan in a bedroom. The fire chief has ruled the blaze accidental and says it started in the kitchen.
