Mo. man who sought to kill officials gets 4 years

A western Missouri man has been sentenced to four years in prison following accusations that he tried to obtain a gun to kill public officials.

Attorney General Chris Koster said Thursday that 53-year-old Mike Maushake, of Rich Hill, was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted tampering with a judicial officer and one count of attempted tampering with a witness.

The attorney general said Maushake sought a firearm to kill a Bates County judge and prosecutor and a Rich Hill marshal. All three officials were involved in a case against Maushake's wife for felony drug possession.
