Craft fest, mud run brings in fall fun for Saturday

Those who want to get out and enjoy the fall weather and see some mud-slinging will soon get their chance.

The second annual Fall Festival and Graveyard Smash is coming Saturday to the Kingdom of Callaway County Fairgrounds. Gates open to the public at 10 a.m.

Martha McGrath, Fulton Jaycees president, said the Jaycees are inviting vendors from all over the area to set up their wares at no cost. The Fall Festival is craft-oriented and hopes to bring in Christmas and Thanksgiving items among other arts and crafts.

Last year, a derby followed the craft festival, but this year the Jaycees decided to have mud runs instead. Starting at 6 p.m., trucks will race each other through the mud for bragging rights.

Admission is $5 at the gates, and children 12 and younger get in free. Mud run check-in starts at 1 p.m. and the entry fee is $20 per class. Call Moreland for more mud run information at 573-826-1914.

Interested vendors or charities can contact McGrath for more information at 573-590-0113.
