Chili cookoff to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

As the weather turns colder, many may find some warmth Saturday in Jefferson City with all-you-can-eat chili.

The 4th annual Cup of Chili competition will be held in front of Prison Brews from 3-6 p.m. Saturday.

Lee Knernschield, program director with Big Brothers Big Sisters, said the event operates as a fundraiser for the organization, which matches adult mentors with children ages 6 to 17 who need additional support, guidance and encouragement.

Tickets for the chili competition are available for $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets for children age 5 to 12 are $5. Tickets cover all-you-can-eat chili and drinks are sold separately.
