Young Professionals get tips from business veterans

Area young professionals gathered at the Stained Glass Theatre on Wednesday to learn from seasoned professionals about how to succeed in the workplace and at home.

The speaker-driven event, hosted by the Jefferson City hYPe young professionals, showcased a dozen speakers and provided a variety of insights.

Speaker Virginia McDowell, president and CEO of Isle of Capri Casinos, followed Audrey Black of CoMO Derby Dames, a roller derby team based out of Columbia.

Cool! The city is finally listening to the Casino people about sucessful businesses. Too bad it is too late to get a casino in Jefferson City. We could have had a major tourist attraction, major employer, and a major infusion of cash into our local economy.
