New search under way for missing Mo. baby

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City police have been searching a small lake near the Kansas City home where a 10-month-old baby was reported missing more than three weeks ago.

Police said the search Thursday at Chaumiere (SHO-Meer) Lake was not prompted by a tip, but was another area near the child's home that needed to be searched.

Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin reported their daughter, Lisa Irwin, missing on Oct. 4. Police have conducted several searches and say there are no suspects in the case.

Earlier Thursday, the parents' lawyer postponed a scheduled news conference because she said the family and people working on their behalf are "exhausted." Cyndy Short's office said plans to allow photojournalists to walk through the family's home and a news conference were being postponed until next week.
