Hikers find body in Missouri River

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) — A body discovered in the Missouri River by two hikers in St. Charles County has been identified as that of a man who jumped from a bridge last month.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/sA2Sl5) that two women hiking Tuesday on the Katy Trail near Highway 370 found the body in the water.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Wednesday that investigators determined the body was that of a 51-year-old man from the St. Charles area. Police had said the man jumped into the Missouri from the Discovery Bridge on Sept. 7.
