Fulton State Hospital isn't the same now as it was when employees received notice in May of 2010 that 270 jobs would be lost in a statewide reorganization of mental health services.
Some jobs were eliminated in the reorganization and some clients were shifted to other Missouri cities, often closer to their homes.
Marty Martin-Forman, chief operating officer at the hospital, said nearly every Fulton State Hospital employee was affected by the restructuring in one way or another.
The realignment will be complete next week when more sexual offender clients are transferred to Fulton State Hospital.
Martin-Foreman is proud that in the end only four employees received layoff notices.
