Power problems at Kansas City airport cause delays

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Power outages at one of the terminals at Kansas City International Airport caused airlines to delay or cancel several flights.

KCI spokesman Joe McBride says the airport had power issues at various locations early Tuesday. Power went out in Terminal B about 7 a.m. It was briefly restored but went out again around 11 a.m.

The electrical problem forced Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines to delay or cancel flights to and from KCI. The problems left passengers scrambling to rebook flights.

Southwest canceled eight flights to or from KCI and delayed all other morning flights. Delta also delayed most of its morning flights.

Southwest customers can call the airline at 800-435-9792 to rebook. Delta customers can call 800-221-1212 or tweet (at)DeltaAssist.
