Lincoln to host Emporia State

With their 69-6 win over the Lincoln Blue Tigers last week, the Pittsburg State Gorillas jumped from No. 7 to No. 4 in the Division II rankings.

About the only good thing about LU's trip to Pittsburg, Kan., was on a personal level for Coach Mike Jones.

"It's a great place to play at," he said. "And it was good to visit there since my father was born and raised in Pittsburg and I'd never been there before."

Today, the Blue Tigers (1-6 overall, 0-6 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association) return home after two straight road games to host the Emporia State Hornets (2-5, 1-5) at 2 p.m. at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
