St. Elizabeth is making a trip to the Class 1 Final Four for the first time since 2002 and the Lady Hornets hope to achieve the same result they did nine years ago - a Missouri state championship.
"It's just such an experience," St. Elizabeth coach Peggy Wieberg said. "My daughters have all gone and I really wanted it for these girls. They deserve it. They've worked really hard. It's been one of their goals for the season. I'm just so happy for them."
Standing in St. Elizabeth's path are the Norborne Lady Pirates, with their 25-0 record, who the Lady Hornets will face in a semifinal matchup at 11 a.m. today at Killian Sports Complex (Field No. 3) in Springfield.
