It wasn't supposed to be quite this easy.
"We expected to come out and execute like we did," Helias coach Phil Pitts said Saturday night after the Crusaders routed the Warrensburg Tigers 56-0 on Homecoming at Adkins Stadium. "On film, Warrensburg was a pretty good football team. But we did a lot of things well and I think things snowballed on them."
The snowball turned into an avalanche as the Crusaders score the first eight times they had the ball on their way to nearly 500 yards of offense in their Class 4 District 10 opener. Defensively, the Crusaders limited the Tigers to 105 yards and just four first downs.
