Helias set for district opener against Warrensburg
Thursday, October 13, 2011
Everything is focused on Saturday night for the Helias Crusaders.
“When you’re coming off a tough loss like we are, it’s tough not to concentrate only on the game at hand,” Helias coach Phil Pitts said as the Crusaders (3-4) prepare to take on the Warrensburg Tigers (4-3) in their Class 4 District 10 opener Saturday night at Adkins Stadium.
“We don’t have a thought about anybody but Warrensburg.”
Helias was knocked below the .500 mark for the first time this season with last Friday’s 28-10 loss at Hannibal. It reminded Pitts of last season, when the Crusaders lost to the Pirates to fall to 3-4 before rebounding to make the state playoffs.
