Four students disciplined over pills

Four students received discipline in connection with students at Simonsen 9th Grade Center becoming ill after taking unidentified pills on Oct. 4.

Because of federal privacy rules and district policies, none of the students have been identified.

In cases such as these, a student may receive up to 10 days suspension with referral to the superintendent.

Jefferson City public school officials believe a student may have brought some prescription drugs to the school.
