Blair Oaks finishes second at volleyball tourney

KAISER, Mo. — The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons took second Saturday at the School of the Osage Tournament.

Blair Oaks dropped a 14-25, 22-25 decision to Fatima in the title match.

What a horrible headline ... Fatima is a local school too maybe the headline should have read Fatima beats Blair Oaks to claim tourney title. Or to they only matter when its convenient for the paper?

Point taken, especially in this stripped-down context where we report only the final result and therefore, it should have been reworded. It's focused on Blair Oaks in the original newspaper version because theirs was the only coach reporting a complete tournament history to us. Thus, those were the only "additional details in our newspaper or e-Edition," as the blurb indicates. --Rick Brown, online editor, News Tribune
