Arrest made in Thursday shooting in Jefferson City

Thursday evening, officers of the Jefferson City Police Department's SWAT Team, in conjunction with the MUSTANG Drug Task Force narcotics officers, Community Action Team, and JCPD Patrol Section, served a search warrant in the 700 block of East McCarty for the arrest of the suspect in the shooting and attempted robbery that occurred early Thursday morning in the 500 block of Lafayette

After a number of leads were developed and surveillance was conducted on the suspect, SWAT members served a search/arrest warrant on the residence at approximately 5:15 p.m. and took the suspect into custody without incident.

No one was injured during the search warrant service.

The suspect arrested is Demetrius Boyce, a 25 year old Jefferson City resident. Boyce is charged with 1st Degree Assault, 1st Degree Robbery, and Armed Criminal Action. He has an extensive criminal history, and is currently held in the Cole County Jail.
