Man dies after being Tasered

The Missouri Highway Patrol has been asked to investigate the circumstances surrounding a southeast Missouri man who died after being Tasered by Camden County deputies early Tuesday morning.

Glenn D. Norman, 46, died at about 6:31 a.m. after resisting arrest when deputies confronted him around the 200 block of Teer Drive in Linn Creek, which is just northeast of Camdenton.

The Camden County Sheriff's Department said its deputies had responded to a 4:24 a.m. 911 call from a man who said the suspect forced his way into his home. The caller said that he struggled with the suspect, who then fled his home but was still in the neighborhood.

Deputies found Norman in a neighbor's yard, then used a Taser X26 to subdue him after he resisted arrest. Several minutes later, the department said, Norman had difficulty breathing, then went into respiratory arrest. Deputies performed CPR on him until medical personnel arrived, but he was pronounced dead at 6:31 a.m. by a physician who responded to the scene.

Norman's hometown was listed as Neelyville, a town of about 500 in southeast Missouri.
