Confirmation of further TB cases at Westminster to take time

A spokesperson for Westminster College said it could be weeks before the school discovers whether it has any more students or staff with active tuberculosis (TB).

The college announced last week that it had been notified by the Missouri State Health Department that one of its students had been diagnosed with TB after a routine tuberculosis screening procedure at The Wellness Center of Westminster College.

That student has since been kept isolated from other students and staff while they are treated for the illness, and those who were in close contact with the affected student will be screened for TB themselves.
