New Fulton fire station nears completion
Tuesday, October 4, 2011
The Fulton Fire Department will soon be operating out of two stations.
Although work on the new $1.533 million station on Tennyson Road is not quite finished, Fulton Fire Chief Dean Buffington said it should only be a matter of weeks before it is opened.
“We’re still not committed to a specific date — a lot of it depends on the contractor’s punch list — but it is coming along nicely and following a schedule,” Buffington said. “I’d be surprised if we didn’t have it up and running by the end of the month.”
He said purchasing new trucks or hiring new staff is out of the question for now, but that splitting the department’s current staff between the two locations will be sufficient.
“We’ll have a couple of trucks and a couple of guys out there per shift,” Buffington said, noting the number of personnel on-site will vary. “On an average day we would have five people on a shift (not including Buffington and Assistant Chief Kevin Coffelt, who work during the day and will float between stations) — three (at the main station) and two at the new station.”

it's good fulton has a new fire station. is anyone aware that it was paid for by 99.9999% of people that don't live there? Thank the spendulous bill. Tax payer in utah didn't even get to vote on that.
