Angie Stiefermann has always been intrigued by the excitement of emergency situations.

She became an EMT at age 19, and did a short stint as a volunteer firefighter for the Holts Summit Fire Protection District.

“On-scene stuff just wasn’t for me,” she said. But working behind the scenes, dispatching emergency personnel was appealing.
