Falcons ease their way into basketball schedule

Ben Cooper will provide senior leadership this season for the Blair Oaks boys basketball team.

WARDSVILLE — Fans of the Blair Oaks boys basketball team would do well to remember one simple fact: The season’s a marathon, not a sprint.

The reason for the reminder centers around the fact the Blair Oaks team that opens the season today at the Eugene Tournament (6 p.m. vs. Versailles) could have a vastly different look in the near future.

That’s because the football team, which just completed a run to the state semifinals, will be sending a few key contributors to the basketball squad.
