SW Mo. police think mother shot son, then herself

CABOOL, Mo. (AP) — Police in a small southwest Missouri town say the death of a woman and her son appears to be a murder-suicide.

Cabool police say they believe 43-year-old Tammy Fleming shot her 15-year-old son, Charles Loftis, and then killed herself.

A family member found the two dead late Monday at their home.

Police say Fleming had no criminal history and no drugs were found. KY3-TV reports (http://bit.ly/sNbzbZ) that Fleming left a suicide note that discussed financial and family problems.
