WACO, Texas (AP) - Brittney Griner had 31 points and 10 rebounds, one of three Baylor players to finish with a double-double, and the top-ranked Lady Bears finally took control after a slow start in rolling to a 109-59 victory over Yale on Tuesday night.

Sophomore point guard Odyssey Sims had 13 points and 13 assists for her first career double-double at Baylor, while Brooklyn Pope had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Destiny Williams finished with 13 points.

Griner scored 10 of her points, all on layups or short jumpers, when the Lady Bears (5-0) closed out the first half with a 29-5 run after the game was tied 28-all.

Zenab Keita and Sarah Halejian scored 13 points apiece for Yale (2-2).

No. 8 MARYLAND 94, SAINT JOSEPH'S 71

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Lynetta Kizer scored a career-high 25 points, Alyssa Thomas added 21, and Maryland remained unbeaten with a victory over Saint Joseph's.

Tianna Hawkins contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Laura Mincy had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Terrapins (5-0), who have won all their games by double figures. Maryland led by 16 at halftime and cruised to the finish in defeating the Hawks for the 10th straight time.

Kizer, a 6-foot-4 senior center, was playing in her second game since returning from a suspension for violating team rules. Her previous career high was 23 points, in 2009 against North Carolina Central.

Erin Shields led Saint Joseph's (2-3) with 16 points, Ashley Prim had 15 and Katie Kuester 13. The Hawks committed only four turnovers but shot 35 percent from the field and were outrebounded 58-25.

No. 11 LOUISVILLE 78, AUSTIN PEAY 60

LOUISIVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Cardinals gave coach Jeff Walz his 100th career win as Louisville wore down Austin Peay in the second half to win.

Monique Reid returned from a back injury to lead Louisville (3-1) with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Becky Burke added 15, and Bria Smith had 13. Shoni Schimmel was the fourth Cardinal in double figures with 10 points and nine assists, while Ciera Warren scored eight and had 11 rebounds.

Freshman Kristen Stainback paced the Governors (2-1) with 15 points and was 4 of 8 on three-point attempts. Whitney Hanley added 12 points and six rebounds.

Stainback hit a three from the top of the key with 16:45 left in the second half to tie the game at 36. But Louisville answered 15 seconds later with a Burke three, sparking a 24-9 run during the next six minutes as the Cardinals slowly pulled away.

No. 13 RUTGERS 68, LEHIGH 40

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Khadijah Rushdan scored 16 points and Rutgers turned in its best defensive effort of the season with a victory over Lehigh.

April Sykes added 11 points and Monique Oliver had 10 as the Scarlet Knights (4-0) continued their best start since 2005-06, when they won their first eight games en route to reaching the Elite Eight.

Aly Byorick had 11 points for Lehigh (1-4), which shot 24.4 percent for the game. The Mountain Hawks hit 10 field goals, with only three being inside the 3-point line.

Rutgers used 14-4 spurt at the end of the first half to take a 32-21 lead and they ballooned the lead to 29 in the second half before C. Vivian Stinger cleared her bench.

No. 15 PURDUE 76, CHICAGO STATE 49

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Brittany Rayburn had 13 points and five assists to help No. 15 Purdue beat Chicago State 76-49 on Tuesday night.

K.K. Houser added 11 points, seven assists and five steals, while Sam Ostarello had eight points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Boilermakers (4-0) in their final tuneup before their trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Twelve players scored for Purdue, which shot 57 percent from the field and made 6 of 12 3-pointers.

The Boilermakers forced 28 turnovers to offset 23 of their own.

Janay Dockery scored 12 points and Natalie Marlowe added 10 points and six assists for Chicago State (0-5), which has lost all of its games by at least 22 points.

Purdue won exactly one year after Drey Mingo went down with bacterial meningitis. Her illness caused Purdue to stay home from Cancun last year.

No. 16 NORTH CAROLINA 61, PRESBYTERIAN 38

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Chay Shegog scored a career-high 23 points to lead North Carolina to a win over Presbyterian.

North Carolina took a 30-13 lead at halftime enroute to its 400th victory at Carmichael Arena.

The Tar Heels (4-0) shot 37.7 percent (23 of 61) from the floor and committed 19 turnovers, but clamped down on defense, holding Presbyterian (2-3) to 14-of-54 shooting (25.9 percent) and forcing 21 turnovers.

Laura Broomfield and She'la White added 10 points each for UNC.

Kristen Stevens scored 11 points for Presbyterian.

No. 18 OHIO STATE 73, HOWARD 50

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Tayler Hill scored 18 points, hitting three 3-pointers, and Ohio State beat Howard.

Darryce Moore added 15 points for the Buckeyes (3-0), who scored 40 points in the paint and had 21 assists, including seven from Samantha Prahalis.

The Buckeyes jumped out to 16-4 lead in the first six minutes with all but two points coming off layups.

Howard tightened its interior play and forced Ohio State into five turnovers in 9 minutes while finding a rhythm on offense. The Bison got to within 27-24 on a free throw by Doyle, but Hill made a 3-pointer from the left corner to propel the Buckeyes to a 37-28 halftime lead and they were never threatened in the second half.

Saadia Doyle scored 19 and Tamoria Holmes 16 for Howard (1-3).

NORTHWESTERN 44, NO. 20 LSU 43

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Morgan Jones made two free throws with 11 seconds left to lift Northwestern to the upset.

The Lady Tigers' LaSondra Barrett missed the front end of a one-and-one with 30 seconds remaining to give the Wildcats one last chance at a victory. After Jones made her foul shots, LSU's Theresa Plaisance missed a 3-pointer with 2 seconds to play.

Brittany Orban scored 13 points to lead Northwestern (4-0), while Jones contributed 11 points and nine rebounds.

Barrett had 11 points to lead the Lady Tigers (3-2).
