Staff members in the hazardous waste program of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, in response to an overwhelming need being experienced by the Jefferson City community this Thanksgiving, decided to join hands and reach out and help.

The 140 employees in the waste program banded together to see how big an impact they could make by bringing in canned goods and boxed food items.

These items were donated Friday to the Samaritan Center on East McCarty Street.
