Katy Trail Shelter fundraiser set today

The Katy Trail Shelter in Tebbetts is celebrating its 15th year today (Wednesday) with a chili/spaghetti fundraiser from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and from 4-8 p.m. at Tebbetts Community Hall.

The two-story shelter in Tebbetts is owned and operated by the Conservation Foundation of Missouri Charitable Trust for youth groups, church groups, bicycle clubs and non-profit groups hiking or biking on the Katy Trail. It is open from March through November.

When not fully occupied, the 40-bed facility is open to individual hikers and bicyclists. The shelter includes showers, toilets, air conditioning, heat and other amenities.
